01 How to play
The village sleeps.
The wolf wakes.
This is a face-to-face game. The site deals secret roles and helps the narrator run it, but the discussion, suspicion and persuasion happen around your table.
01Gather the players
Use a standard deck with a Joker. Deal one secret card to each person: the Joker is the narrator, an Ace is the wolf, a Queen is the seer, and cards from 2 to 10 are villagers. This version supports 5–39 people; groups of at least eight are recommended.
02Keep roles secret
Pass the device around. Each player reveals only their own card, then hides it before passing the device on. The narrator takes the device after everyone has seen their role and must keep the private controls out of view.
03Night: the wolf
Everyone closes their eyes. The narrator asks the wolf to open theirs and silently indicate one living player to kill. The wolf then closes their eyes again. The narrator records the chosen victim without announcing it yet.
04Night: the seer
If still in the game, the seer opens their eyes and silently points to a person they suspect. The narrator confirms with a nod whether that person is the wolf. The seer then closes their eyes. A seer chosen as the wolf’s victim may still make this prediction before dawn.
05Day: discuss and vote
The narrator wakes the village and announces the victim, who leaves the game. The living players discuss who the wolf might be. Each living player casts one vote; the person with the most votes is eliminated.
06Win or sleep again
If the vote eliminates the wolf, the village wins. Otherwise, another night begins. If the wolf is the only living player left, the wolf wins. The narrator does not vote. If a vote is tied, this digital version holds a revote among the tied players.
